DUI Enforcement Unit - Uniform Patrol Division

All Martin County Sheriff's Office deputies and our Traffic Enforcement Unit work diligently to expand and improve the services provided to the community in an effort to make our daily commutes safe and pleasurable. DUI Enforcement is responsible for apprehending drunk and impaired drivers and performing traffic enforcement.  The Traffic Enforcement Unit is under the command of Uniform Patrol Division.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is responsible for supporting Uniform Patrol deputies in assisting with traffic crashes and other traffic enforcement needs as they arise. The Traffic Enforcement Unit also consists of DUI Enforcement.

DUI Enforcement deputies are highly trained personnel whose number one mission is to combat drunk and impaired driving thru enforcement and education.  Deputies are trained in all areas of advanced impaired driver detection including field sobriety observation and breath test operations.

Visual, radar, laser, time-distance and pace-clock are all utilized as speed measurement tools for detection of impaired driving and enforcement missions in all marked and unmarked patrol vehicles driven by sheriff's deputies, regardless of their assignment.
