Environmental Crimes Unit

The Environmental Crimes Unit is assigned to the West County Operations Division, an area populated by cattle ranches, farms and citrus groves.  Western Martin County has vast wooded areas along with several bodies of water.  One quarter of Lake Okeechobee is located in Martin County.  These areas are prime locations for illegal dumping and other environmental related crimes.

Agricultural Crimes Detective Joe Passanesi investigates all criminal environmental complaints, patrols rural and unaccessible areas of Martin County, supports West County Operations Division and works jointly with Agricultural Crimes Detectives.
