The Budget and Finance Unit is responsible for
overseeing all financial transactions of the Agency. There are six
(6) employees assigned to this Unit who handle payroll and benefits,
vendor payments, contracts and grants fiscal management and the
review of all agency and trust fund transactions.
This Unit also prepares the annual financial
statements and hosts an individual independent audit. All fiscal
functions are monitored to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board,
and Federal and State reporting requirements.
It is the responsibility of this Unit to prepare
the annual budget for presentation to the Board of County Commissioners
based upon meetings with the Executive Staff and the Sheriff.
The 2011-2012 Sheriff's Office budget
is $54,868,510 and is distributed to the three major divisions as
indicated below.
