The Mobile Field Force Unit can be activated in response to a natural disaster, an incident of civil unrest, or another incident when requested by the Sheriff. The purpose of the Mobile Field Force Unit is to address a civil disruption and restore order. By making a single request for assistance, the agency receives a trained, equipped and standardized response force.

What are the capabilities of the
Mobile Field Force Unit?

• 4-person mobile patrols
• 4 squad-sized Crowd    Control Elements
• Civil disturbance control
• First-aid capabilities
• Mass arrest capability

Specialized Training
Deputies that are assigned to the Mobile Field force are volunteers and are required to complete an intensive twenty-four hour training course. The course provides the attending Deputies with specialized training in the areas of civil disobedience, crowd management, use of force, vehicle formations, baton techniques, chemical agent uses and the delivery of less lethal munitions. Deputies receive this intensive training to ensure that they are prepared to respond to the incident and that the rights of all citizens are respected

Specialized Equipment
One of the characteristics of the Mobile Field Force Unit is that each Deputy possesses a standardized issue of specialized equipment. This specialized equipment is maintained by the officer and makes them available for immediate deployment should the need arise.
