Citizens Academy Application
Community Involvement is the most powerful force a law enforcement agency has in the fight against crime. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office presents two (2) separate types of Citizens Academies.
- Citizens Academy – This academy runs for 10 weeks. Held once a year, attendees meet one night a week for 10 weeks and are able to learn more about the life of a law enforcement officer. This program is geared to be more “hands on”. The next 10-week academy is scheduled for early 2012.
- One Day Academy – The one day academy is geared for residents who may not be able to attend for 10 continuous weeks or drive at night. This abbreviated version is held quarterly. Attendees still receive the same type of presentations, however on a shorter scale.
