Sergeant Bettineschi is the supervisor of the Transportation Unit. This unit is comprised of 5 certified deputies. His responsibilities include arranging of all transports for inmates to other facilities throughout the State of Florida. In addition this well organized unit must ensure that all inmates are transported for their court appearances, and medical needs. It is not unusual to transport over 100 inmates in a single day.

The transportation deputies receive defensive driving courses to ensure the safe and secure transport of inmates to and from the facility. The prompt transportation of sentenced inmates to prison also saves money for the residents of Martin County.
